Hidden Gems of the Month

Trabzon’s natural beauty offers countless places worth visiting. Each month, I pick one special spot to share—and since this month we are celebrating April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in Türkiye, I’ve chosen a place that holds both historical and national significance: the Atatürk Pavilion.

The Atatürk Pavilion: A Historical Beauty Surrounded by Nature

The Atatürk Pavilion is one of the most iconic landmarks in Trabzon. Located on the hills of Soğuksu, this charming white mansion is surrounded by lush gardens and pine trees, offering visitors both historical richness and natural beauty. The building itself, with its elegant architecture and well-preserved interior, offers you a glimpse into the early 20th century and the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who stayed there during his visits to the city.

As you can see in these photos I took, the pavilion stands out with its striking presence amidst green surroundings, making it not only a historical site, but also a perfect spot for photography and relaxation. The peaceful garden paths and panoramic views of the city below turn this place into a hidden paradise for those seeking a calm atmosphere.

If you enjoy both culture and nature, Atatürk Pavilion will surely impress you. Whether you want to learn more about Türkiye’s history or simply enjoy a quiet walk in a beautiful setting, this destination must-see in Trabzon.
